World Yoshukai 27th Annual Sunshine Classic Open Karate Tournament 2014 in the above photo

Students from Grandmaster Eldrige Conley’s Academy of Keichu-Do Martial Arts represented Enterprise at the 27th annual Sunshine Classic held at Panama City Beach FL on 9 August 2014. The winning started off with Jace Himes placing 1st in weapons, 1st in forms and 3rd in fighting in the 8 and 9 year old brown belt division, boys and girls. In the 11 and 12 year old brown belt division, boys and girls, Tyler Cotton Sherrer placed 1st in weapons, forms and fighting. In the 14 and 15 year old intermediate boys and girls division, which included blue, green and orange belts in forms, Danai Coleman won 1st in forms, and girls only fighting 2nd place. In the same forms division, Andrew Richardson placed 2nd in forms, and boys only fighting 1st place. Justin Jones also in the same division placed 4th in forms, and boys only fighting 2nd. In the 10 and 11 year old intermediate boys and girls division both forms and fighting, Spencer Shirah won 1st in both. In the 8 and 9 year old boys and girls intermediate division Benjamin Sheets won 1st in forms and 4th in fighting. In the beginners division which included white and yellow belts boys and girls, 8 and 9 year old, Trevor Woodham won 1st in both forms and fighting while Keith Warren same division won 2nd in both forms and fighting. In the 13 and 14 year old beginners division a two month student at Conley’s Academy Cassie Shirah competed for the first time won 3rd place in both forms and fighting. Special congratulations to all the students that worked hard for this great event. Parents were very proud of their children and are planning for the last competition this year, which will be held at the Dothan Civic Center: The Southern Region Open Karate Tournament on November 1st.

Students from Conley’s Academy of Keichu-Do Martial Arts represented Enterprise at the 46th Battle of Atlanta Karate Championship on 19, 20 and 21, June 2014 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta Ga. Students from Grandmaster Conley’s academy have been participating at the Battle of Atlanta for the last eight years and have always won in the Class A division traditional karate events. The winning started off with Jace Himes placing 1st in weapons, 1st in forms and 4th in fighting in the 8 and 9 year old brown belt division. In the 11 and 12 year brown belt division Tyler Cotton Sherrer placed 1st in forms and 2nd in fighting. In the 14 and 15 year old beginner girls division, Danai Coleman won 1st in forms, and 2nd in fighting. In the 15-17 year old brown belt boys division, Moon Mullins won 1st in forms, 2nd in weapons, and 3rd in fighting. Special congratulations to all the students that worked hard for this great event. Parents were very proud of their children and are planning for next year’s Battle of Atlanta and more. Student not in photo is Jace Himes
