Conley’s Keichu Do Academy brought home the gold after showcasing their talent they have mastered through Master Conley’s expert teaching in martial arts. The 30th Southern Region Open Karate Tournament was held at the Dothan Civic Center, in Dothan Alabama on 31 October 2009. Karate students from Germany, Japan and nearby states met to demonstrate their skills. Students from Conley’s Academy competed in the following different karate categories: Open hand forms, Weapons forms and Sparring.
Shihon Conley was very pleased with the results of his students. Starting off the wins was 6th degree black belt Patrick Paolozzi, from Germany, who has been Grandmaster Conley’s student from 1985 to the present, winning 2nd in forms and 2nd in fighting, Enterprise students: 1st degree black belt Rodelyn Mullins, won 1st in sparring, 1st in weapons and 3rd in forms. Brown belt division ages 15-17, Ryan Dare 1st in weapons, 2nd in forms, and 2nd in sparring; LJ Adrales won 2nd in weapons, 1st in forms and 3rd in sparring. In the brown belt division ages 11-12 Joanie Haas won 1st in weapons and 1st in forms. Orange and green belt division ages 13-14 Colton Powers (green belt) won 1st in weapons, 1st in forms and 2nd in fighting, Corra Miller won 3rd in sparring. In the orange and green belt division ages 15-17 Charles Zachary Crawford (green belt) won 2nd in forms. Orange and green belt division ages 9-10 Seth Rogers(orange belt) won 1st in weapons, 1st in forms and 3rd in sparring and Harley Powers won 4th in forms. In the orange and green belt division ages9-10 Buddy Haas won 2nd in forms. White and yellow belt division ages 15-17 Serena Bush won 1st in forms, and competed in the women’s division in sparring and won 1st place, Craig Conner Richey won 2nd in forms and competed in the green belt division in sparring and won 2nd place. In the white and yellow belt division ages 9-10, Quentin Carr won 1st in forms and 2nd in sparring and Harley Chappell won 3rd in forms. In the white and yellow belt division ages 7-8 Tylor San Nicolas won 4th in forms. Noticeable differences are found at tournaments when comparing Master Conley’s students to those of other schools. Instructors from all over ask Shihon Conley his teaching methods and style. Master Conley describes his teaching techniques as very strict and confidence building. His passion is for keeping the martial art tradition alive in the young people that he teaches.
Conley’s Keichu-Do Students win big during the 22nd Sunshine Classic Open Karate Tournament August 22, 2009 in Panama City Beach, FL.
Conley’s Keichu Do Academy brought home the gold after showcasing their talent they have mastered through Master Conley’s expert teaching in martial arts. The Sunshine Classic tournament was held in Panama City, FL on 22 Aug 2009. Karate students from throughout many states met to demonstrate their skills. Students from Conley’s Academy competed in the following four different karate categories: Musical Kata, Open hand Kata, Weapons Kata and sparring.
Shihon Conley was very pleased with the results of his students. Once again 16 year old E.J. Conley won The Grand Championship in the youth black belt division, making this his 5th Grand Champion win in his karate career and 10th World Championship. E.J. also won 1st in kata, weapons and musical kata and 2nd in fighting due to a ring controversy. Seth Rogers moved up to the intermediate division, (orange and green belts) proving himself with a 1st place in both kata and fighting. Charles Zachary Crawford placed 1st in kata, and 2nd in fighting while Corra Miller placed 2nd in kata and 3rd in fighting in that division. In the purple/brown belt division, Joanie Haas placed 1st in weapons, and 1st in kata. First time competitor Jason Martin placed 1st in kata. Also in the white/yellow belt division was Quentin Carr wining 2nd place in both kata and fighting. Harley Powers placed 3rd in fighting, and her brother Chase Powers placed 1st in weapons, kata and fighting. Ryan Dare, in the brown belt division, placed 1st in kata, and weapons, 2nd in fighting and musical kata. In the black belt women division, Rodelyn Mullins placed 3rd in weapons, 2nd in kata and 1st in fighting.

ENTERPRISE KEICHU-DO SCHOOL AMOUNG THE BEST
Students of Conley’s Keichu-Do Academy of Martial Arts competed in Atlanta, Georgia among World’s Top Martial Artists at the Battle of Atlanta XLII: A New Beginning. Grandmaster Eldridge Conley and his students took home top honors. Students that competed were junior black belt, E.J. Conley, black belt, Rodelyn Mullins, and brown belt, Ryan Dare. Sensei EJ placed 2nd in weapons and 5th in forms in the 16-17 yr old division. Ms. Mullins brought home 1st in sparring, 2nd in weapons and 3rd in forms. Dare received 1st in forms, 1st in weapons and 3rd in sparring for 14-15 yr olds. These students took home top honors as they were competing against students from all over the world. The Battle of Atlanta is one of the most prestige tournaments in the World.
