Below are the winners from the 43rd annual Southern Region Open Karate Tournament 4 November 2023 which was held at the Dothan Civic Center

Enterprise Martial Artist Students Doing Great

Eleven students from Conley’s Keichu-Do Academy competed at the 43rd annual Southern Region Open Karate Tournament 4 November 2023 which was held at the Dothan Civic Center.  The Keichu warriors’ winnings started off in the junior black belt division age 15 & 17 with Jace Himes placing 1st in forms, fighting and weapons. Jace also won the junior black belt Grand Championship again for the 3rd year in a row.In the under black belt division age 13- & 14-year-old advance, Lennon Chandler placed 1st in forms, weapons and 3rd in fighting. Evan Marquet a green belt placed 3rd in weapons and 1st in fighting. In the 15–17-year intermediate division Ethan Marquet an orange belt placed 1st in forms and 2nd in fighting. Cailyn Wardrobe placed 4th in forms.  Also, in the 15-17 advanced Landon Smith placed 4th in forms.  In the girls intermediate division ages 13-14, Mary McBride placed 3rd in forms.  Sarah McBride competed in the Adult Men and Women intermediate division ages 18-34 and placed 3rd in forms and 2nd in fighting. In the adult men advanced division 18-24 Layton Smith placed 1st in both forms and weapons. In the 7- & 8-year-old advanced division Sebastian Steger placed 1st in both forms and fighting and 3rd in weapons. he is not in the picture.  The Warrior’s closed out the 2023 tournament season. They are ready for 2024.

Enterprise Martial Artist Students Still on Top

Only six students from Conley’s Keichu-Do Academy competed at the 35th annual Sunshine Classic Open Karate Tournament on 9 September 2023 which was held in Panama City Beach Fl.  The Keichu worries winnings started off in the junior black belt division age 15 & 17 with Jace Himes placing 1st in forms, fighting and weapons. Jace also won the junior black belt Grand championship again this year.

In the under black belt division age 13- & 14-year-old, Evan Marquet a green belt placed 2nd in forms, weapons, and 1st in fighting. In the 15–17-year-old Ethan Marquet an orange belt placed 1st in forms and 2nd in fighting.  In the girl’s intermediate division ages 13-14, Mary McBride placed 3rd in both forms and fighting. Sarah McBride competed in the Adult Men and Women intermediate division ages 18-34 and placed 2nd in forms and 3rd in fighting. In the 7- & 8-year-old advance division Sebastian Steger placed 1st in both forms and fighting and 2nd in weapons.  The worries will close out the 2023 tournament season on 4 November 2023 at the 43rd Annual Southern Region Open Karate Tournament in Dothan, Alabama.

Enterprise Martial Artist Students Still Maintaining

Only six students from Conley’s Keichu-Do Academy competed at the 2023 South Alabama Karate Open Tournament which was held in Andalusia, Alabama on 10 June 2023. The warrior’s winnings started off in the junior black belt division age 15 & 17 with Jace Himes placing 1st in forms, fighting and weapons. Jace also won the junior black belt Grand championship. Also, in the brown belt division age 16- & 17-year-old, Layton Smith placed 2nd in forms, and 3rd in weapons, in that same division, Lennon Chandler placed 1st in forms and weapons.  In the intermediate division age 14- & 17-year-old, Landon Smith placed 1st in forms. In the girl’s intermediate division ages 14-17, Mary McBride placed 1st in forms and 4th in fighting.  In the 7- & 8-year-old advance division, Sebastian Steger placed 1st in forms, weapons and 3rd in fighting

Enterprise Martial Artist Students started out 2023 Big

Ten students from Conley’s Keichu-Do Academy competed at the 24th Annual IKC Challenge Karate Tournament which was held in Columbus Georgia on 18 February 2023. This tournament was the first tournament for 2023 which started off the tournament season for the Keichu Warriors. The winnings started off in the junior black belt division age 16 & 17 with Jace Himes placing 1st in forms, 1st in continuous sparring, 3rd in fighting and 2nd in weapons. In the adult men brown belt division, Xavier Cruz placed 1st in forms, weapons and fighting. Also, in the brown belt division age 16- & 17-year-old, Layton Smith placed 1st in forms, 2nd in weapons, 3rd in fighting and 2nd in continuous sparring. In the brown belt division age 14- & 15-year-old, Lennon Chandler placed 1st in forms, 3rd in both fighting and weapons.  In the intermediate division age 14- & 15-year-old, Landon Smith placed 3rd in forms.  In the 12- & 13-year-old boys intermediate division, Evan Marquet placed 1st in fighting and 3rd in forms.  In the beginners’ boys 14- & 15-year-old division, Ethan Marquet placed 1st in forms and 2nd in fighting. While in the 14- & 15-year-old beginners girls division, Mary McBride placed 2nd in forms and 1st in fighting.  In the 16- & 17-year-old beginners girls division Sarah McBride placed 1st in both forms, 1st in fighting and 3rd in continuous sparring. In the 6- & 7-year-old intermediate division Sebastian Steger placed 1st in forms and 3rd in fighting
